The Sarawak SUKMA futsal team won their second match in Group B yesterday by defeating Pahang 3-4 in a nail biting encounter.
The host of SUKMA Sarawak drew first blood in the 3rd minute of the match via Mohamad Nazir, before Asyraff doubled the goal difference between the two a minute later.
Radziman then scored Sarawak’s third goal to put the host 3-0 up against Pahang.
Pahang retaliated by scoring two goals through Muhamad syazwan in the 27th and 33rd minute respectively, but fell short of nullifying Sarawak’s three goal lead.
The win puts Sarawak in favourable position to advance to the quarter finals of the futsal competition as they now are second in the Group B standing, sharing points with Perak.
The team coached by Mohd Faizal Zamri however is still not safe as they still have two more matches before the group stages conclude, with both Perak and Selangor both able to overtake the Sarawakians to book a slot in the next stages.
That said, the match between Selangor and Perak today will be vital for Sarawak’s ambition for gold in futsal as a draw or defeat for Selangor will be the best outcome for Sarawak.
