Datu Sudarsono Othman when interviewed by a local news station in regards to his current election as Vice President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) told the press that he will be highlighting the ‘unfair’ travel expenses incurred by teams based in Borneo.
According to what we could obtain from the news, Sudarsono was keen to highlight the fact that teams from Borneo, Sarawak in particular, have to pay more to travel, where as the funds made available for such travel is not adequate.
This is however not the first time an elected representative of Sarawak FA tried to highlight the issue of travel expenses for both Sabah and Sarawak teams to FAM as it was believed that Captain Gulzar did try to highlight such issue to the FAM without much success.
Shall the issue take center stage in FAM, it would be interesting to see how the solution will transpire as staying for long hours for a stretch of away games will cause the players to be home sick and experience fatigue.
