Malaysia have confirmed they are now in the semi-finals of the SEA Games football competition after they defeated Myanmar 3-1 at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
The capacity crowd played their hearts out and a brace from N. Thanabalan, coupled with a Safawi Rasid strike, confirmed their SEA Games semifinals berth.
Myanmar who gave up a gallant fight managed to score a consolation goal through their substitute Than Paing two minutes from time, but the goal proved a little to late as the capacity home crowd celebrated the resounding victory.
Malaysia will now face Laos who beat Brunei 3-0 in an earlier Group A match, in which Malaysia head coach Ong Kim Swee is expected to reserve his best players for the semi finals. – SarawakCrocs.com
