The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has sent a letter of protest to Malay daily Utusan Malaysia to show they take what seems like a huge editorial error in their most recent publication, seriously. A copy of the letter, seen below has been sent to us by a fan named ‘Ean’.
The article by Utusan Malaysia made a review of all the teams in the Liga Super but somewhat excluded Sarawak from the team list.
The error, detected by fans of Sarawak, angered numerous fan groups from Sarawak with some issuing statements of dissatisfaction over the matter. The issue had become viral within hours.
FAS, had also issued their displeasure about the matter via an official letter to Utusan Malaysia.
According to the letter, FAS regards the error as having a hidden agenda and hopes that such mistake which appeared on the main page of a popular paper will no longer happen in the future.
The FA further hoped that publications will be more careful of their news and request the publication to issue an explanation either on social media or via a formal letter about the issue.
As of 11PM, 12 February, no official response from Utusan Malaysia was spotted on their Facebook page, which was last updated in November 2015.
