Sarawak FA has lost their bid to retain their best goalkeeper as Sani Anuar has confirmed he would be leaving Stadium Negeri.
According to an official statement on his official Facebook page, Sani would be joining Pulau Pinang (Penang) FA for the coming season, and he would like to thank fans for their support during his time at Stadium Negeri.
The goalkeeper whom has been an integral to Sarawak’s promotion to the Super League played his final game for the Crocs in the Malaysia Cup, and is expected to start training with his new team in coming months as the team’s number one goalkeeper.
In 2014, Sani lost his spot as the number one goalkeeper in Sarawak to newcomer Fadzley Rahim after a series of poor performances in the league. His drop in form had caused some fans accusing him of bribery, with Sani issuing a statement of denial on the matter. It is believed that such serious allegations played part in Sani’s decision to move out of Stadium Negeri.
The departure of Sani confirms rumours that he was on his way out from Stadium Negeri.
With Sani’s departure, the Crocs are now left with only Fadley Rahim as the most experience goalkeeper for Sarawak, as the Crocs has so far also confirmed that Aidil Mohammed would be released.
Another goalkeeper, Mohd Iqbal from ATM is also on trial with the Crocs at the moment.
To Sani from us at SarawakCrocs.com, thank you for your service at Sarawak. We wish you the best for your future undertaking.
