Rhinos sack an import player and manager George O’Callaghan

Sabah FA has decided to terminate the services of George O’Callaghan, the technical director and manager of the club effective immediately.

Also sacked was Fazrul Nawaz, the sole player in Sabah whom had filled the only Asian import slot.

According to Berita Harian, both individuals were sacked following their breach of contract although it is not known exactly which part of the contract was breached.

Following George’s dismissal, Datuk Seri TC Goh was appointed as the care-taker manager for the club for now, with Sabah having to play with three foreign imports out of the maximum four allowed in the Malaysian League. The head coach of Sabah for the time being would be Justin Ganai.

Yesterday it was reported that Sabah was close to playing in the M-League with only three foreign imports after Fazrul was said to have returned to Singapore 48-hours before the all important jersey launching of Sabah FA for 2015.
