The real acid test beacons for the Premier League champions of 2013 as they face Super League outfits Perak.
Sarawak was reported to be in high spirits as they prepare for this away fixture, but Perak can be anything but easy for the Crocs to face.
The team coached by Azraai Khor enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Super League, but news reports reveal that they have every intention make a mark in the Malaysia Cup.
Robert Alberts has in recent reports admitted that the Malaysia Cup draw has not favored his team with an away game against Perak already being tough for his side.
Sarawak’s ability to challenge looks good however is statistics were to be considered, but then again, the Crocs do not cross path often with a Super League team.
Roberts is expected to play his strongest side against the Seladangs with Bobby Gonzales and Muamer Salibasic trying to penetrate Perak’s goal, protected by national goalkeeper Farizal Meralis.
In the engine room, Sarawak looks certain to crowd the midfield, and the influence of Junior Eldstal, whom has returned from national duty would greatly help in Roberts cause as captain Sharol Saperi looking yet again to start from the bench. At the flanks, nippy Joseph Kallang and Zamri Morshidi will be expected to drive in the crosses, while towering Guy Bwele playing as Sarawak’s main ball winning midfielder.
The defense of Sarawak which has leaked the least goals in the league looks set to retain it’s favorite four although Roberts may be tempted to try Junior at the center back.
Regardless of Albert’s strategy, we highly believe the Dutchman will look to win the game by crowding the midfield to suffocate Perak’s ability to push balls forward, hence enable quick counter attacking football by his side.
With that said, this game will go down to the wire with the team winning this game most probably securing a place in the last eight.
