An internal source has informed newspaper KOSMO that the current crop of national players in the Malaysia football team would prefer Ong Kim Swee to continue as the permanent coach of Harimau Malaya.
Kim Swee currently holds the post on an interim basis until the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) decided who will fill the vacant spot left by Dollah Salleh who resigned a few months ago.
KOSMO in the report said that players were more confident to perform under the guidance of Kim Swee and that the Melaka born coach is believed to have the potential to bring the Harimau Malaya to greater heights, despite the recent 6-0 defeat to Palestine.
FAM will decide Kim Swee’s fate as the national coach this coming December, in which they would announce the new coach for Harimau Malaya.
