Pahang Football Association has renamed their senior team to Pahang FC beginning last night. The move is the team’s first cosmetic step towards privatization as the Malaysian League moves towards that direction.
Together with the new name, Pahang has also introduced a new logo which resembles the elephant.
The logo as Pahang FC says is simple with clean lines, hence making it easier for them to commercialize and promote.
According to the club, the logo was tested with advertising companies, and it scored high for brand awareness.
Fans reaction on the new logo has been mixed, but it is believed their sentiment will not change the decision to re-brand the club.
