A tough battle awaits Sarawak at Stadium Shah Alam tomorrow, but it is in no way an impossible one.
The Crocs are limping to Shah Alam with several regulars missing from their side, but Mazwandy Zakeria and Dzulazlan Ibrahim have been outstanding when called to fill in the gap left by these players.
Sarawak however will be pleased to welcome back S Chanturu and Ronny Harun into their side as the duo have finished their suspension, and returned home after settling family issues respectively.
Although the match looks tough on paper, the Crocs can sneak in an upset as Selangor will be playing without their top marksman Paolo Rangel who is currently serving a two match ban for a red card.
But Selangor are far from being depleted as the likes of Nazmi Faiz, Abdul Hadi Yahya, Ahmad Hazwan Bakri, Andik Vermansyah and Farizal Marlias decorate their player rooster, hence ensuring the team led by Mehmet Durakovic has enough depth to provide the Crocs a good challenge in this game.
Despite the Red Giants poor run, having been defeated twice in the past week to ATM and Kelantan, Robert Alberts knows his opponents is well geared up to improve their chances to win the league title.
Robert however will be encouraged by the poor showing of the Red Giants at Shah Alam Stadium lately.
Sarawak’s poor form away from home would also be a huge factor in this game although their current form in the Super League is much better with two stalemate results against much fancied sides in Lions XII and Pahang.
With the return of Ronny at the defence, Robert is expected to rest Mafry Balang for this game, although he might just opt to retain Mafry but put Dzulazlan at the bench instead.
Up front, Muamer Salibasic and Ryan Griffith are assured the starting line-up with Ashri Chuchu most probably rested to allow S Chanturu to make a comeback from his suspension.
Junior E, Joseph Kalang, Sharol Saperi will most probably fill the rest of the squad first choice list as the Crocs gun for the famous victory, and further dent Selangor’s chances to win the league.
Based on Selangor’s current poor form, and the fact that the Red Giants rely way too much on suspended Paolo for the goals, we expect the Crocs to secure at least one point from Shah Alam, with revenge over their defeat in Stadium Negeri quite possible.
