[MSL] Sarawak FA vs Sime Darby FC

Who would have thought that the fortunes of these newly promoted sides would be very different in the early days of the 2014 Super League.

Sime Darby FC now sits in the middle of the league, while Sarawak FA is rooted at the bottom, with no points to show after two games.

Statistics do back Sarawak with the Crocs winning two of their latest encounters, both played at Stadium Negeri, with the latest being the one knocking Sime Darby out of the Malaysia Cup last season.

However Sime Darby is not to be underestimated. The squad led by Ismail Zakaria, has abundance of quality players with their import players making impressive displays so far.

The midfield of Sime Darby in particular looks beyond impressive with Dilshod Sharofetdinov and Mahmoud Al Amna possibly partnering the likes of Fahrul Razi. The trio would surely create a problem for Sarawak’s engine room which found it difficult move during game against Kelantan.

Up front, Zakaria might also be tempted to feature Dilshod, with experienced Fadzli Saari, although other strikers such as Failee Ghazli and Farderin Kadir are already ready to break through the back line marshaled by both Ronny Harun and Gabor Gyepes.

For Sarawak, there has been a lot of questions on the quality of their striker imports, and this is expected to yet again take center stage this coming Tuesday.

Aliredza Abbasfard and Milorad Janjus have been less than inspiring for the home side, prompting Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts to probably make huge changes to his attacking and midfield.

Akmal Rizal might just get the nod to start, although we do think that Milorad would be given the chance to yet again prove his worth.

Robert’s would also be tempted to crowd the midfield to curb Sime Darby’s engine room strength with him featuring a similar line up which played against Kelantan.

The likes of Gabor Gyepes and co. would most probably remain similar too as they have proven their ability to contain attacks last Saturday.

It is anticipated that Sarawak would go all out to win this game, with both import strikers yet again trying to show they are worthy signings for the Crocs.

That said, we expect a very close match in which the Crocs would come up as eventual winners.
