The Malaysia Football League (MFL) had decided to strip Perlis FA of its participation in the Liga Malaysia.
The move comes following Perlis’ failure to fulfill their financial obligations as previously agreed when Perlis was invited to play in the Liga Premier.
According to a press release by MFL, Perlis financial report wasn’t as innitially promised, and Perlis does not have enough funds to compete in the Liga Malaysia.
Due to the decision, Perlis would cease to play in the Liga Premier.
To protect the interest of former Perlis players, MFL also had decided to extend the registration for Perlis players to 30 days beginning today.
Perlis was chosen by MFL ahead of other Liga FAM teams like Kuching FA for the ‘special promotion’ to the Liga Premier.
