MATCH REPORT: Sarawak FA 0-0 Pahang FA

The Crocs and Pahang shared the spoils at Stadium Negeri tonight with both teams unable to break each others defenses despite numerous attempts on goal.

Despite starting the game aggressively, Sarawak found themselves unable to penetrate the Pahang defenses with Damion Stewart the most difficult figure to defeat at the heart of the visiting teams defences.

Pahang got an early chance on goal, but Azidan Sarudin’s free kick was chested by Joseph Kalang before he cleared it out.

Sarawak replied through Ivan Fatic, but his chance on goal went begging inches from target.

Pahang pressed harder for their opening goal, but a header from Matias Conti, and a shot on target by Fauzi Roslan was foiled by Fadzley Rahim whom was on top of his game.

As the game moved closer to half time, Ivan tried his luck again in the 40th minute, but his shot was easily caught by Khairul Azhan.

After the breather, the tempo of the game increased with both Pahang and Sarawak trying their best to score.

Nonetheless, Dickson’s beautiful turning in the 47th minute was cleared by Dzulazlan Ibrahim, while a free kick which met Billy Mehmets header was pushed out by Khairul minutes later.

Damion continued to terrorize Sarawak’s half with a deadly header, but with everyone guilty of ball watching, the ball went out of play for a goal kick to Sarawak.

Robert Alberts made a tactical change by substituting ineffective Shreen Tambi for Nazri Kamal, but his move failed to increase Sarawak’s chances on goal with Pahang looking the more dangerous side as the game came to full time.

With seconds however left on the clock, Sarawak managed to sneak in on last chance on goal but a free header by Australian Ryan Griffith was blocked by a Pahang defender before it could cross the goal line.

The chance proved to be the last of the game as the referee Zamzaidi Katimin blew the full time whistle to mark both teams end the game even.
