The pre-season friendly matches in 2015 are proving too much to handle for the Crocs after Premier League side PKNS FC out-played the Crocs during a friendly game at the MP Petaling Jaya Stadium today.
Starting with a 4-4-2 formation, the Crocs deployed Ronald Hikspoor and Sabri Sahar in the centre with Ashri Chuchu and Nazri Kamal playing at the flanks.
Ryan Griffith and Billy Mehmet started up-front and the defenses saw regulars like Ramesh Lai, Ronny Harun, Hairol Mokhtar and new comer Ivan Fatic.
Despite that, PKNS which was strengthened by Boca Juniors’ Gabriel Guerra ran riots at the Sarawak midfield as they terorized the Sarawak defenses. The Crocs failed to control the midfield, and there was little attacking flair from the Crocs.
As the game progressed, an error by Ramesh allowed Fazli Baharuddin to put one in the net via a deadly cross.
Sarawak tried to level the score, but Guerra again helped his team score when he gave 36-year-old Liew Kit Kong a perfect pass, which Kit Kong blasted from outside the box to beat a sleeping Fazley Rahim.
The second half saw Robert Alberts making massive changes with Joseph Kalang, Partiban, Dzulazlan Ibrahim and Sharol Saperi coming in.
The new players managed to freshen up the Crocs attack as Sharol started to dictate the centre with Joseph and Partiban making industrious runs at the flanks.
Dzulazlan who replaced Ronny at the defence line also brought positive improvemnet to the Crocs as the visiting team now started pushing forward with several dangerous crosses making its way to the box.
Ivan Fatic then earned his marching orders after he harshly tackled a PKNS player, and in came Shreen Tambi whom had just been promoted from the President Cup team.
Shreen didn’t disappoint with him gelling well with Partiban and Joseph up-front. The former Harimau B player started showing why he needs to be given more game time as he produced some magical play which gave Sarawak more options up-front.
As the clock almost hit the full-time mark, Shreen jumped high to head in Partiban’s cross, giving the Crocs the sole goal of the night.
