Sarawak FA young defender Rodney Celvin, known better as Bonai, is believed to have finally moved to PKNS FC, confirming a rumour we published about his departure a month a go that he has been snapped up by the Klang valley team.

While no official news about his departure from Sarawak FA had been published to date, his presence during PKNS’s training shows the tall defender among the players listening to head coach K Rajagobal during the team’s pre-season training in Selangor.

In fact, PKNS had also up-loaded a photo of their latest signings, with Bonai standing just a player away from Shahril Saa’ri, the Crocs former goalkeeper.

Previously, we have been made to understand that Bonai was indeed invited to join PKNS FC by Rajagobal, but a rumour also suggested that he has signed a contract extension with the Crocs recently.

Last week, a local daily reported that Bonai also confirmed he was at cross-roads to either sign for PKNS, or stay in Sarawak FA.

Despite all the news and rumours, Bonai’s appearance with PKNS FC nonetheless gives a clear indication of his future in football, making him likely to be the 11th player to ‘check-out’ of the Crocs at the end of 2017.

The departure of Bonai is yet another blow to the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) which intends to go all local for the coming season, particularly with Bonai being one of the best crop of youngsters in the team.

  1. ATB Bonai….semoga lbh berjaya diluar sana…fas pun bukannya sungguh2 menaikkan martabat bolasepak Sarawak…dulu masa juara liga perdana, ingat disitu bermula era kbangkitan pasukan Ngap Sayot tapi nyaris2 ditendang balik liga Perdana, malah smakin merosot tahun demi tahun sehingga tahun ini tiada lagi keraguan bila kembali berkelana dlm liga bawahan…ramai player muda yg berpotensi tepaksa berhijrah demi menyelamat karier bolasepak mereka, disamping gaji yg lbh lumayan…

    • Memang tdk dinafikan usaha berterusan Fas utk pembangunan bolasepak Sarawak, tapi mcm tiada klimaks, bila bakat2 muda mula menonjol persatuan pula tidak menentu…terpaksa cari tim lain utk survival karier mereka, bukan kata FAS lepas tangan tapi tpaksa meninggalkan Sarawak, sbb FAS tdk berapa mampu menyaingi gaji2 ditawarkan oleh pasukan lain…senang cakap offer lbh bagus…

  2. Pergi lah semua lgipun sarawak xmcm team lain blh bgi gaji besar xpa ada lgi yg nk main dgn Sarawak …kalau dh main team lain kalau xdpt main jgn mengeluh usaha dpt tempat utk main sebab team tu byk player yg bgs so kena sabar bila jarang main
