Malaysia gets new national football kit for AFF 2014

NIKE has unveiled Malaysia’s new national kit inspired by the national team’s home jersey from 1958.  We are not sure why the 1958 was chosen as inspiration, but the jersey looks classic enough to bring you back to the ‘good old days’.

A few alterations were made to the jersey with the new home jersey featuring narrower stripes and a red tip on its round collar .

The away jersey spots a complete blue colour with a red border on its sleeves together with the addition of a new polo style collar in white.  It looks a little like Italy and France jerseys, mixed up together.

Other alterations include the slogan “Tanahnya Tumpahnya Darahku” which is still found on both jerseys, although now comes in a slightly more modern font, and a triangle to bound it in place.

The jersey uses NIKE’s Dri-FIT material and is priced at RM249 each.  It should be available nationwide soon, but for now, a few NIKE stores in the Klang Valley are the only ones having them.

Despite it being inspired by the 1958 national kit, we somewhat feel the kit lacking something although we do love the red tip on its round collar.

What do you think of the new kit? Say something in the comment box.
