Gilmar unlikely feature against Terengganu, future at Stadium Negeri looks bleak

Sarawakians have pinned a lot of their hope on Gilmar da silva Filho when he was announced as the main striker for the Crocs at the beginning of the season, but it looks like the Brazilian will yet again be seating out of the coming Liga Super match against Terengganu.

Gilmar is reported to be injured, and it is very unlikely that he will be able to shake off his injury in two days time.

Sarawak head coach K Rajagobal has also confirmed that Gilmar needs to be rested, prompting the experienced coach to use other players in his team against Terenganu up-front.

With Sarawak now rock bottom in the league, boasting among the worst scoring rate in the Liga Super, Gilmar’s position looks uncertain pass June, especially since his injury is preventing him from proving his worth to the team.

This conclusion is largely due to the fact that Rajagobal has hinted massive change during the June transfer window, in which he was hoping to get players that could bring the team ring more positive results.

Rajagobal has also in recent weeks expressed his disappointment towards the strikers of Sarawak, saying that he will give them until June to show their worth, or risk being dropped from the team.

Up to date, Gilmar has also not shown his lethal finishing with the striker only putting in two goals from eight Liga Super matches.

With Gilmar out of the coming line-up against Terenganu, it is likely that local striker Tommy Mawat will start in his place.
