Kuching City plans offensive play against Brunei DPMM in Malaysia Cup 2026 return leg

Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak has sent a clear message ahead of the Malaysia Cup quarter-final second leg: his team will not be sitting back.

Despite holding a comfortable 3-1 aggregate lead following their first-leg victory over Brunei’s DPMM FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, the “Cats” are preparing to maintain their aggressive, attacking philosophy.

Speaking at a press conference, Aidil emphasized that playing defensively at Stadium Negeri on February 14 is not an option.

He believes that the home supporters deserve high-quality, entertaining football, and the best way to repay their loyalty is by hunting for more goals.

“We want to attack and score because the fans want to see an exciting match. That is how we show our appreciation for their support,” the coach stated.

In terms of physical and mental preparation, Aidil has warned his squad against complacency.

While the two-goal advantage puts them in a strong position to reach the semi-finals, he stressed that discipline, intense focus, and hard work remain the essential keys to victory.
