Kuching City FC will use the Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin, Johor, (also known best as Larkin Stadium) as its home venue for the club’s AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) group-stage matches during the 2026/27 campaign.

The venue was confirmed in the official AFC match schedule released on 18 August 2026. The decision comes as Kuching City prepares for its first appearance in the AFC Champions League Two after finishing runners-up in the 2025/26 Malaysia Super League.

Kuching City was drawn into Group H, alongside South Korea’s Gangwon FC, Hong Kong’s Kitchee SC and Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Crown FC.

Three ACL2 matches in Larkin

According to the AFC’s official schedule, Kuching City’s three home matches will be played at Larkin:

  • 15 October 2026 — Kuching City FC vs Kitchee SC
  • 5 November 2026 — Kuching City FC vs Gangwon FC
  • 26 November 2026 — Kuching City FC vs Phnom Penh Crown FC

The AFC schedule lists the Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin, as the venue for all three fixtures.

Kuching City’s three away matches will be against Phnom Penh Crown in Cambodia on 17 September, Gangwon FC in South Korea on 29 October, and Kitchee SC in Hong Kong on 3 December 2026.

Why Kuching City is playing in Johor

Kuching City’s regular home venue, Stadium Taha Arrifin in Kuching, has been affected by planned upgrading and renovation works woth some RM7 million.

The club had also previously indicated that it was preparing its facilities at Stadium Taha Ariffin in anticipation of participating in ACL2, but it seems works on the stadium are not able to be completed in time.

A return to the Asian stage

Kuching City secured its place in ACL2 after finishing second in the 2025/26 Malaysia Super League with 53 points, recording 16 victories and five draws. The achievement ended a 10-year wait for the club to return to Asian competition.

The 2026/27 ACL2 campaign therefore represents Kuching City’s first participation in the competition, with Larkin set to become the temporary home venue for the club’s three group-stage fixtures.

The use of Larkin also gives Kuching City a venue in Johor for its continental home matches while Stadium Taha Ariffin undergoesupgrading.
