Kedah FA and Penang FA have confirmed their place in the Malaysia Super League next season.
Kedah, playing at Stadium Bukit Jalil, had no problem overcoming DRB-Hicom, with a champion like win of 5-1.
Sandro Medonca opened the scoring spree in the 4th for Kedah but their lead was short lived when Ivan Babic equalized for DRB-Hicom five minutes later.
Chidi Edeh however put Kedah immediately back ahead in the game two minutes later before Sandro slotted in another goal in 33rd. After the breather, Kedah mounted more pressure on the DRB-Hicom defenses and Chidi yet again penalized DRB-Hicom’s lapse in defense by scoring in the 50th minute. At the 80th minute Sandro sealed Kedah’s Premiership title with his third goal in the match to ensure Kedah join the elite teams next season in the Super League.
Penang was the other team which ended their impressive season with promotion to the Super League after they defeated UiTM FC 0-2 tonight.
The Panthers wasted no time to ensure their place is secured in the Super League when they took an early lead in the 10th minute of game with Azinee Taib being the hero.
Nine minutes before the final whistle, Hilton Moreira ensured Penang would not let their promotion chances slip as he scored Penang’s second goal.
The game ended with Penang fans elated their team would be playing in the Super League next season.
