An official statement from Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) revealed that they were not interested to sign Sarawak talented defensive midfielder Junior Eldstal.
The statement said “Reports in the football website portal, www.goal.com mentioning that Johor Darul Takzim was interested and had approached Junior Eldstal to don the blue and red jersey of Johor Darul Takzim next season is completely false.”
According to the statement, “Junior was never on JST’s radar according to their team source and the player was never approached by the team let alone being offered any contract to play for them next season.”
JDT further added that “A lot of speculation that Johor Darul Takzim is interested in the player (Junior) and also a few others from other clubs have been reported in the media and various social media sites has been seen as players using it as a bargaining tool for them to negotiate a higher contract with their own respective teams or other teams interested in them.”
Junior has already signed a new contract with Sarawak before the season ended, but it does seem very interesting to know why JDT had to clarify their possible interest to Junior since a lot more players have also been linked to JDT, yet not having similar statement being released.
