Hikspoors moved to coaching, Sarawak FA now looking for replacement

Sarawak FA yesterday confirmed that Ronald Hikspoors is no longer part of the playing team of Sarawak FA.

According to a statement released on social media by the team, Hikspoors obtained an injury recently and was not willing to risk playing while injured.

Hikspoors said that he was worried his injury would drag the team’s performances down.

The statement added that Hikspoors had since opted to take up football coaching license and had negotiated to be retained as part of the coaching staff.

Sarawak had confirmed that he would now be part of the coaching team and would not be playing for Sarawak as previously planed.

Hikspoors was one of the first foreign players announced to have joined Sarawak this season, but his absence during the Sarawak FA opening match against Negeri Sembilan raised eyebrows.

The change of playing status for Hikspoors means that Sarawak now has one more opening for a foreign player.
