KL SPA FC’s warning that they would humble the newly promoted Sarawak FA side were nothing more than empty talk as the Crocs secured a convincing 5-0 win against the team from the peninsular Malaysia.
Sarawak started the game aggressively with Robert Albert’s best eleven making their first ever appearance in their new home colours.
It did not take long before returning winger Rashid Aya made his presence felt as good teamwork between him and Milorad Janjus delivered Sarawak’s first goal.
The goal was sparked by a wonderful cross off Joseph Kallang Tie whom was aiming for tall Milorad. Milorad, made a dummy, and allowed Rashid whom was better positioned to tap in the goal to the delight of the 8,000 home crowd.
Joseph increased the goal tally for Sarawak in the 31st minute when he received a pass from Milorad, before easily defeating KL SPA custodian Mahathir.
After the breather, Sarawak rallied their arsenal and started moving the ball forward.
Their effort paid off when defensive KL SPA tripped Milorad in the penalty box, hence giving Joseph the easy task of putting the Crocs three goals up in the 51st minute.
To beef up the attacking force, Roberts brought in Alireza A for Milorad, and the Iranian didn’t disappoint.
Barely five minutes into the game, Alireza found himself fouled in the penalty box, and Muamer Salibasic made no mistake to convert the spot kick to put the Crocs comfortable at 4-0.
The scoring party didn’t end there as Alireza obtained a goal for himself seven minutes later, when he calmly tapped in Lot Hassan’s blocked shot on goal.
Sarawak moved closer to increasing their lead as the game moved into injury time, but the score of Sarawak FA 5-0 KL SPA FC remained until the final whistle.
