The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Football Development Program (NFDP) which is runned by the Ministry of Sports.
Chairman of Sarawak football Development Unit, Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini was quoted by Utusan Borneo as saying the move is a first by FAS, in which FAS would introduce consistent football development programmes Sarawak-wide for all its affiliates.
Suhordie added that the programmes would be a collaboration with NFDP, in which FAS would also adapt its own programmes which are already in place with NFDP.
The collaboration is expected to begin next January with children and teenagers being the maon target.
Football development has been a key issue brought up by FAS since yesteryears, but it has seen more penetration at younger age groupa under the new management which seema very keen to produce Sarawak-born professional footballers in the future.
