It seems that the first Sarawak home game might be ‘different’ with several supporter groups of the Crocs complaining that their facilities have been dismantled and taken away.
According to Cakoza Troopers, the group heading Gate A of Stadium Negeri, their ‘capo stand’ which has been a permanent facility to lead supporters at Gate A, has been removed recently, and this would definitely ‘interrupt’ the way support would be provided to the Crocs.
The group noted that they had to fork out their own money for the stand, and are disappointed that it has been removed without any prior notice, especially with the first Sarawak home game just around the corner. According to the spokesperson of Cakoza Troopers whom only wanted to be known as Ijam, the stand was bought by their group, and they do not understand why it was removed considering it is not a hazard to the safety of anyone or even the game.
Nonetheless, Ijam noted that they will continue to support the Crocs and continue their usual antics despite the recent setback and hope that the management of Sarawak FA would look into finding an amicable solution to the problem.
We contacted a person in the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) about the issue, and he told us that he has no knowledge of any instructions to remove the stands. According to him however, the removal might have been done by the contractors appointed by Perbadanan Stadium Negeri which owns the stadium facility.
Sarawak play Terengganu this coming Saturday with the Crocs aiming to secure the full three points.
