Winning a title, and helping his team gain promotion from the Liga FAM, up to the Liga Super may do wonders for a coach’s career, but it wasn’t the case for Melaka United Football Club (MUFC) head coach Mat Zan.
Despite bringing unfancied MUFC to the Liga Super next season, Mat Zan is set to lose his post at Stadium Hang Jebat as the MUFC management has given a clear indication that they are looking to appoint a new coach next season.
Mat Zan has admitted that he is disappointed with what had transpired, but MUFC’s management is determined to bring in fresh faces to the Liga Super team with Ong Kim Swee tipped as favourites to hold the post.
Nonetheless, Mat Zan can take some consolation with the fact that not less than two teams in the Malaysia League are looking at signing him for the coming season.
