The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) will be organizing a closed selection for players this coming 12 December. This was reported by Utusan Sarawak.
According to FAS General Secretary, Razali Dolhan, the selection would see players identified from the recently concluded Piala Sarawak fight for a spot in the Sarawak FA team next season.
Razali added that these players (identified from the Piala Sarawak) would however need to show their worth as they would be up against youngsters from the Piala Presiden and Piala Belia, both youth teams managed by FAS.
Razali’s comments meant that that the trials, or selection for that matter, would be only opened to selected players, hence making it a closed selection.
Sarawak FA has a huge number of players to employ for the coming season following the departure of not less than ten players to date, with the newer players expected to come from Sarawak itself as FAS announced its intention to ‘go local’ for the coming season.
