#BolaTanpaMercun: Mobile scanners & more personnel added at stadium

The security at Stadium Negeri will be much tighter this coming Saturday as the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) will introduce mobile body scanners and added security personnel to make the Bola Tanpa Mercun campaign a success in Sarawak.

According to FAS President Datu Sudarsono, more stringent body checks would also be conducted on fans, as he hoped the security personnel would not be intimidated by the huge crowd, and do their jobs well.

Likening the security checks before the game like security checks at the airport, Sudarsono said that it will be near to impossible to completely stop smuggling of firecrackers. However, he hoped that the awareness campaign of Bola Tanpa Mercun would create self awareness among fans whom he hoped would behave and enjoy the game.

Sudarsono was met at the Bola Tanpa Mercun official launch at Stadium Negeri this evening as all the players, coaching staff and officials held A4 size posters of to show their support of the campaign.

The Bola Tanpa Mercun campaign, or better known as #BolaTanpaMercun was innitiated by Sarawak Crocs on September 1st with the whole campaign going viral ever since.

It was seen that the campaign is gaining huge momentum with fans willingly ‘boo-ing’ those playing firecrackers during the Sarawak-Perak game, with many hurling negative words to those seen blowing up firecrackers.
