Sarawak FA head coach Anai Igang has confirmed that import player Muamer Salibasic is struggling with his fitness.
According to a report by website CSNSportsTalk, Anai said this in the post match interview after his side was defeated by Sabah FA 2-1 at Stadium Negeri.
According to the report, Anai claimed that Salibasic is struggling with his old injury and he didn’t want to aggravate the injury, hence the decision to not start the Bosnian.
Sarawak failed to start all their import players against Sabah yesterday with only Pedro Henrique and Hudson Dias listed in the starting line up.
Both Salibasic and Indonesian Rian Firmansyah were placed on the bench for the game.
The decision sparked a debate among fans who started questioning the need for both import if they are not regular starters in Sarawak matches.
