Alberts expresses satisfaction with performance of Crocs

KUCHING: Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts was full of praise for the Crocs in last Monday’s match PDRM.

It was the performance that he expected from his players at Stadium Hang Jebat, Melaka as Sarawak won 3-1.

“We dominated possession during the whole match and we created a lot of chances. It was a good result and a good game indeed,” he exclaimed.

He observed that the Crocs were not disrupted by PDRM which played a lot of long balls during the match.

The two team were tied 0-0 at half time.

Azizan Baba opened the scoring account in the 48th minute followed by a goal each from Bobby Gonzales and Muamer Salibasic. PDRM got their consolation goal in the 53rd minute via a penalty.

“I think it was a classy goal scored by Muamer yesterday (last Monday). It was the type of goal I would have expected from a player of his stature,” said Alberts.

Alberts was also pleased with Zamri Morshidi’s performances in the match.

“With most of our right flankers out on the crock list currently, we now have other options in Zamri. His performances in his new position helped the team a lot,” he added.

The head coach, however, believed that the man of the match award should go to Junior Eldstal for his hard work as he has started to adjust himself well with the local football climate.

Sarawak’s next league match will be against NS Betaria FC at Stadium Negeri this Friday.
