AirAsia has released an official statement denying rumours that there are plans to buy over DRB-Hicom FC.
According to the brief statement by AirAsia FC, the rumours are not true, and that AirAsia FC will continue to ply their trade in the Liga FAM with an ambition to secure the promotion slot to the Liga Premier in 2018.
The announcement by AirAsia FC puts to rest speculations that Tony Fernandes is keen to buy Malaysian League opt-out team, DRB-Hicom FC.
Interestingly, if such move were to materialize, it had the support of Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) CEO, Kevin Ramalingam.
