Brazil opened the Rio 2014 World Cup by winning 3-1 against Croatia early this morning.
An own goal by Marcelo own goal gave Croatia the lead in Sao Paulo at the 11th minute. The defender bundled the ball past Julio Cesar at the wrong end of the pitch after Ivica Olic’s low cross from the left was missed by David Luiz and Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic.
Neymar balanced up the sheets in the 31st minute with an incredible angle on that ball.
Neymar again put his name on the scoreboard after he easily put away a penalty kick in the 71st minute thanks to a foul call over Brazil’s Fred.
With additional time left, Oscar seals it for Brazil when he calmly beats Corluka, and pokes a toe-punt past the right hand of the hapless Pletikosa from the edge of the box.
Final Score: Brazil 3-1 Croatia
