Sarawak promoted to Super League 2014!

Sarawak became the first team this season to earn automatic promotion to the Malaysia Super League (MSL) after they defeated KL Pos Malaysia 0-3 to collect maximum points from a game which extends Sarawak’s unbeaten run to an amazing 19.

With 49 points, the Crocs now seat proudly at the helm of the Malaysia Premier League with four points clear of their closest nemesis, Sime Darby FC.

This makes them mathematically eligible for the minimum of a second placing in the league which states that the two top teams from the league will automatically gain promotion.

Bobby Gonzales was the toast of the day when the in-form striker scored his 18th and 19th goal of the season in the dying minutes of the second half.

Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts declared he was happy for the team, and the Sarawak fans for the promotion, as he added that he is also proud of his personal achievement.

Meanwhile, the automatic slot for the MSL remained open to Johor after Sime Darby FC were tamed 1-0 by KL SPA FC.

The defeat of the club side means that Johor, which is five points below them, has a chance to sneak into the top two if Sime Darby continues to drop points in their up-coming games.

The Premier League takes a long three week break before it resumes in mid June.
