Sarawak FA would be moving to a new stadium this season.
The announcement was made during the launching of the new Sarawak FA jersey which saw Minister of Sports, Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman, making the announcement.
According to Abdul Karim, the move would see Sarawak leaving their traditional home base at Stadium Negeri, to Stadium Sarawak.
Stadium Sarawak is just beside Stadium Negeri and has a capacity of 40,000.
Abdul Karim also announced that despite the move, ticket prices for Sarawak FA matches would be retained as usual.
Calls for Sarawak to play at the Stadium Sarawak had been strong among fans with many wondering why the Liga Premier team failed to move even after the SUKMA (Sukan Malaysia) ended a couple years ago.
Personally, we are not sure about the move especially since filling the 40,000 Stadium Sarawak would be difficult if the team does not perform.
However, the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) does seem optimistic about their chances this season and are bringing back quite a few of the winning 2013 side, hence making any possibility, possible.
