Rumours on social media sites related to Sabah FA have word that Sabah’s top foreign player El-Hadji Diouf, might not start when the Premier League kicks off after he is said to have obtained a hamstring injury.
The injury is not new for Diouf whom had experienced similar injury in 2006 and 2007.
According to our checks online, such an injury would mean that Diouf would not be available for the Rhinos for at least three weeks, if he is treated correctly by a specialist. Improper treatment could see the Senegal player sidelined for over two months.
Shall the news be true, it would be a huge blow towards Sabah’s preparations for the 2015 season, especially after they were hoping Diouf would help the team gain promotion this season.
Diouf was a no show at Stadium Negeri last Sunday when his team met with Sarawak FA for a pre-season friendly.
