The Crocs chances of moving into the next round of the Malaysia Cup look brighter after they overcame numerous odds to defeat high-riding Perak at an empty stadium last night.
The game started with Perak conquering the match for the first few minutes but possesion of the ball soon changed when the Crocs obtained confidence in the game.
J. Partiban was the toast of the night when he scored the sole goal for the Crocs courtesy of a cross from Joseph Kalang Tie.
The goal came in the 34th minute after Joseph’s dribbling beat his marker and his cross into the box was pounced by awaiting Partiban.
In the second half, the combination of Joseph Kalang, Billy Mehmet, Partiban and Patrick Gerthardt caused massive problems to Perak defenders, but Hairol Fazreen Abu Hassan stood strong between Perak’s goal post.
Sarawakian Hairol Mokthar later had to be replaced by Varathan following a hash tackle towards him, and Joseph Kalang had himself ejected from the match after he retaliated over an incident involving Tommy Mawat.
At the final whistle, the Crocs take home the full three points, but will e playing without influential Joseph Kalang who will be suspended for at least two games.
