PDRM vs Sarawak: Crocs still winning as usual

Sarawak retained their lead in the league after they defeated PDRM FC at Hang Jebat Stadium later today.

The match which was played on an uneven pitch proved difficult for the Crocs to accommodate as they found themselves defending against a gusty police side.

Despite coming in as favorites to win, Sarawak failed to capitalize on numerous efforts in the first half with some fans at the stands wondering if the team can actually win the game, which was still level after half time.

Nonetheless, the Crocs picked up pace in the second half with Azizan Baba calmly putting the visiting team in the lead at the 48th minute.

The joy of the goal was however short lived after Hairol Mokhtar was accused of man handling the ball, resulting in a spot kick which was easily converted by Ugandian Kaye Edrisar to level back the score.

From then on, it was PDRM taking the game, as they dangerously penetrated the Crocs half with efforts which were whiskers away from the target.

Realizing the drop in momentum for his team, Robert Alberts substituted Azizan Baba and Sharol Saperi, for Bosnian Muamer Salibasic and Mazwandi Zakeria.

The switch proved very positive for the Crocs as they charged towards PDRM’s goal with their hefty arsenal.

In the 76th minute, Bobby almost put the Crocs ahead again, but he was seconds from connecting the ball into the net.

Nonetheless, the Sabahan striker soon redeemed himself after he nicely put in Zamri Morshidi’s pass to the back of the net.

PDRM tried to force their way back into the game, but Bosnian Muamer Salibasic ensured they never came back by tucking in a wonderful effort to put the score 3-1 for Sarawak.

With an additional 3 minutes to the game, Sarawak held their defense tight to ensure they were able to extend their hold on the league lead.

Elsewhere, second place Sime Darby FC continued to pressure Sarawak by securing a convincing 2-0 win over bottom place Betaria FC.
