KUCHING: Sarawak players have been directed to play in “all parts” of the field where they are more playable at the Stadium Hang Jebat as coach Robert Alberts admitted that the biggest obstacle must be the field in their clash with PDRM this afternoon.
Just fresh from their 1-0 win over leaders Sime Darby three nights ago, Sarawak will have to psyche themselves up for what could be a tricky match.
The PDRM side who are now in fifth position with 27 points are still in the fight for places and that will make them a dangerous side, said Alberts.
Sarawak beat them 1-0 at home at the State Stadium to spoil their unbeaten run when they were leading the table at the early stages but have been inconsistent lately.
“PDRM were the side whom we spoilt their good runs and position at the top.
“We now know more about the team as they are a team that blow hot and cold.
“They will be bent on revenge but as long as we have the desire to win, we will be able to win.
“It is crucial that we stay unbeaten even though we had just beaten another leader Sime Darby over the weekend.
“The pitch could be a main problem to allow good football to be played but the players having played there a few times know the condition and will play in the parts that are playable and try to avoid the patches that are unplayable,” said Alberts.
For today’s match, Shahrol Saperi the player who came in and played well as a reserve will get to start the place even though Junior Eldstal has taken over his former position as central midfielder in the Sime Darby clash
Shahrol will be playing in the left wing role in the position vacated by Joseph Kalang Tie who was injured in the match against Sime Darby.
Another player who is not fully fit is Bosnian playmaker Muamer Silabasic but he will be given a late fitness test to see if he could play as he is a very decisive in midfield as a back-up striker.
