Goals by Azizan Baba, Bobby Gonzales plus a top class goal off an exquisite football display from Bosnian playmaker Muamer Silabasic contributed to the third goal.
“I was a bit concerned as after the win over Sime Darby, we had a tricky match against PDRM and I tried to avoid the anti-climax.
“Also the ground was unplayable as the ball didn’t bounce but the players can control about 60 to 70 per cent of the match which was quite commendable of them after their hard-fought match against Sime Darby.
“The third goal was absolute class with Muamer (Silabasic ) who was not fully fit and having a run for 20 minutes scored the third goal after a one-two combination with Guy(Bwele) before beating two defenders to stab the ball into the net,” said Alberts.
Alberts said, apart of Muamer who produced his moment of magic, the other new player Junior Eldstal controlled the game with his domination in midfield, winning the ball tirelessly to earn Albert’s assessment as man-of-the-match.
As for Shahrol Saperi who did not start but played as a left winger coming on in the second half, Alberts also gave him praise for doing a good job in place of Joseph Kalang Tie who was out injured.
But the highest accolade was reserved for local player, Zamri Morshidi who showed he can play as well in the wing as a central striker as he produced his best display so far, according to Alberts.
With the latest win against PDRM, Alberts can rest easier for he needs to win two matches more to secure promotion to Super League starting with the next match at home against bottom of the table NS Betaria this Friday.
After Betaria, Sarawak have four more matches left with Johor the next hurdle awaiting them on June 21 at the Pasir Gudang stadium and with that match on the way, Sarawak will have two relatively “easier” matches with Kuala Lumpur at home and their match is against Sabah away on July 5.
Their other match will be against Pos Malaysia after it was postponed due to the general election.
The new date for the match has yet to be announced. If they continue their winning run without suffering any hiccups, the championship title might be the first silverware for Alberts in his time with Sarawak.
But then, the Dutchman coach’s main target is not any cash prize or Premier League title but promotion to the Super League after just one season away from the elite of Malaysian football.
