Sarawak failed to overcome Terengganu when they succumbed to a 4-2 defeat against the Turtles.
Playing in front of a near empty Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, the Crocs opened score through Ryan Griffith who fumbled in the ball from a decent pass by Ivan Fatic.
Terengganu however pegged the Crocs back with unmarked Muhd Fakhrurazi Musa powering a shot in goal at the 23rd minute. Ismail Faruqi Ash’ari then doubled Terengganu’s lead when he too, was left unmarked in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, Ismail tripled Terengganu’s lead when he brilliantly skinned the Sarawak defenses before defeating a helpless Muhd Iqbal in the 63rd min, with Ivan Fatic pulling one back for the Crocs soon after through a stunning effort which hit the back of the net.
When the game looked like it was going to be a 3-2 defeat for the Crocs, Shafiq Rahim showed fans why he is still one of the best players in Malaysia by skinning the Crocs defense in the 84th minute before his cross in the box went straight off Patrick Gerthard to the back of the net for an own goal.
The defeat puts Sarawak deeper in the relegation zone with four points separating them and Terengganu who now sit on top of the Crocs.
