Sarawak will need to work hard and pray that lady luck would be on their side when they take on the Turtles at Stadium Negeri tomorrow night.
The East Coast team which finished fourth ahead of the Crocs will be looking to gain full points in their opening match, and they have brought a very solid team to Kuching.
Moustapha Dabo will again be a threat to the home side, but local players such as Zairo Anuar and Nor Farhan Muhammad could cause headache for the backline of Sarawak as well.
The Crocs on the other hand are toothless with both Muamer Salibasic and Hassan Muhammad injured and unable to make the team in time for the group stages of the Malaysia Cup.
Despite that however, locals such as Ashri Chuchu, Joseph Kalang Tie, S Chanturu and Rashid Aya are expected to start to help Ryan Griffith get the goals for the Crocs.
Experienced striker Akmal Rizal might also get the nod to start with central defender Gabor Gyepes still doubful for the opener. Ronny Harun and Ramesh Lai however are a sure start at the defence.
In the goalkeeper’s department, Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts will be spoil of choices with Fadley Rahim pushing harder for him to be retained as the number one goalkeeper, and Sani Anuar vying for his chance to return to the first team. Both goalkeepers are equally capable.
Both teams have frequently crossed paths, but the Crocs have not won against Terengganu since 2008. With the Crocs eager to prove their critics wrong, we expect this game to be a very tight affair.
OUR BIASED PREDICTION: Sarawak 1-1 Terengganu
