Mother nature has worked in Johor’s favour after the haze currently occupying Pasir Gudang has forced Football Association Malaysia (FAM) to reschedule the Johor vs Sarawak fixture to 8:45PM tonight.
According to news sources, Johor had prior to the match, applied to FAM to hold the game at night, but it was denied by FAM.
The rescheduling of the game means Johor can expect a bumper crowd at Pasir Gudang Stadium, hence giving them added advantage at home.
Sarawak fans on the other hand are crying in dismay as the change in time has reportedly affected the live telecast of the game over ASTRO Arena (Channel 801). It is confirmed that ASTRO has decided to give priority to their pre-planned live telecast at that time which features Super League top of the table teams ATM and Selangor.
The Johor-Sarawak game has been rescheduled to a delayed telecast at 12 midnight, although some fans claim that ASTRO could actually set up a special channel to cater for the extra game with ease.
A insider source from the Football Association of Sarawak FAS) has also informed us that the match between Johor and Sarawak is still at risked of being canceled shall FAM find the haze situation in Pasir Gudang deteriorating to unplayable conditions.
