Johor 1-2 Sarawak: Crocs remain unstoppable!

It seems that nothing can stop the Crocs as they continued their undefeated streak by a slim win over Johor tonight.

The win also meant that Sarawak had also destroyed Johor’s perfect record at home, making it the second time the Borneo side was able to break their opponents streak this season, with the first by ending Sime Darby FC’s unbeaten run when they defeated the club side in Kuching in May 2013.

The game at Pasir Gudang started with Sarawak throwing everything they had at Johor, and it only took a mere four minutes for the visiting Crocs to take the lead.

Muamer Salibasic thundered a fast paced run towards the Johor goalkeeper who failed to neatly catch a wild shot on goal, resulting in Muamer brilliantly snatching the ball, and heading it in for Sarawak to lead the game.

Johor replied the effort with a dangerous cross in the Sarawak penalty area, which Harunizam secured nicely at the back of the net following a sharp header which Sani Anuar failed to save.

From then on, the game went from end to end with Sarawak and Johor exchanging attacks to find more goals.

In the dying minutes of the first half, Bobby Gonzales scored his 20th goal of the season when he was able to removed himself from his marker, to head in the winning goal for Sarawak, courtesy of a nice indirect freekick by Guy Bwele.

After the breather, the game was indeed Sarawak’s to take with the visiting team making more efforts to double the score.

Johor were left playing a deep defensive line as the energetic Crocs controled the game with pace and great agility.

Sarawak came close to pulling themselves a goal more ahead, but Bobby floundered a magnificent pass from Muamer in the penalty box.

Ezequiel Gallegos came close to equalizing for Johor in a counter attack, but his effort was saved by the upper post to keep the score still in Sarawak’s favour.

The Crocs mustered more offensive raids towards the Johor goal, but a lovely effort by Muamer hit the post, while corner kicks for Sarawak ended fruitless until the final whistle.

With the win, Sarawak remain on top of the Malaysia Premier League, with only a win next Monday separating them from being crowned champions this season.
