Robert Cornthwaite is thanking his fans for pressuring the management of the Red Giants to sign him back into the Selangor team.
The central defender who many regard as one of the best foreign central defenders in Malaysia was released by the Red Giants after his Malaysia Cup ended, prompting fans to revolt and question why he was dropped despite his sterling performances.
Selangor fans in particular were up in arms over the decision which they deem to be ridiculous and weird. Some threw trolls at the Selangor management, with several teams quickly becoming instant destinations for the then out-going Robert.
The u-turn by Selangor was very much unexpected, but since it is now confirmed, it remains unclear how long Robert was offered to re-join the Malaysia Cup champions.
