The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has irked the fans yet again, and this time, they dug deep into the ultras by banning two things quite prominent with these supporting groups: flares and receipt rolls.
Although flares have been banned before this, FAM has put more stringent measure to curb entirely the use of such items by banning it entirely from stadiums. The previous ban on flares was not accepted well, but fans have since found a loop hole in the rule, and started lighting them up after games.
The new ruling will be enforced starting tonight when the Malaysia Cup kicks off with supporters of Sarawak and Johor being known for extensive use of flares after matches.
It is however not known how the fans of Sarawak, which are led by ultra group Gallore Buceros would react to the ban as efforts to contact them were unsuccessful today.
Receipt rolls on the other hand is a new addition to the growing list of banned items in the stadium.
