Sabah ace striker El-Hadji Diouf has complained that the pitch at Stadium Merdeka is horrible.
According to Diouf, if he knew that such pitch was allowed to be used in the Malaysian League, he wouldn’t have bothered to ‘sign for Sabah. Diouf added that it was really ashamed to know that the the fans had paid good money to watch good football, and yet, players are unable to produce such quality due to the poor uneven pitch.
He also noted that since Stadium Merdeka was a historical monument, the pitch should be better maintained.
Diouf is a new signing for Sabah, and was better known for his days with English club Liverpool.
