‘S Chanturu’ scored two goals as the Crocs defeated a gusty Samarahan side at Stadium Negeri today during an off-season friendly.
Playing most of their local players, the Crocs wasted no time to try to break the deadlock, but Samarahan stood strong with former Sarawak player Ibrahim Mentali calling the shots from the sidelines.
The soggy pitch didn’t help both teams as Sarawak played with a few trial-list players trying to make an impression over Robert Alberts whom looked calm at the substitute bench throughout the game.
The likes of Dzulazlan Ibrahim, Ramesh Lai, Hairol Mokhtar and Fadzley Rahim also played in the game with Ronny Harun seen doing light warm-ups at the sidelines.
Samarahan, which is also the winner of the recently concluded Sarawak Cup, however showed they were no pushovers with gallant efforts on goal which made Robert Alberts men sweat in a few intense moments.
Nonetheless, it was the players wearing Fans 2014 Player of the Year, S Chanturu jersey, Partiban K.Janasekaran and Yoganathan Munusamy who made the difference as they slotted in one goal each for the Crocs to have the boasting rights of the day.
Final score: Sarawak 2-0 Samarahan
