The Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah had revealed that he has been asked to chair an Asean committee in hopes of bidding for the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
The crown prince of Pahang said: “This decision was made by the sports ministers from Asean countries, and there will be a meeting on June 19, before I disclose more information to the media.”.
Tengku Abdullah added, it would most probably be a co-hosting proposal, but was quick to say the standard of football must be improved first.
