KUCHING: Staying focused and try to win every remaining Premier League game. This is coach Robert Alberts’ current mission.
Although he is very happy with his team’s 5-3 win against UiTM FC last Friday, he is now focusing on the matches down the road.
“It was a good match and I congratulate the players for their fine performance during the match. Now let’s focus and talk about the next match,” he said.
The crocs are trailing two points behind Sime Darby FC.
The two league leaders will clash on May 10.
Should Sarawak win their next two matches (Perlis and SPA Putrajaya), the team can be assured of the top spot in the league table if they beat Sime Darby in May.
“I know it won’t be easy. But if we believe in ourselves, we can do it. There is nothing else fitting enough as a reward for us at the end of this season than a promotion to next season’s Super League,” he added.
There is good news for the Crocs as, not counting players still nursing long term injuries, Sarawak currently has a clean bill of health and all players are cleared from suspension as well.
Key players like Guy Bwele and Shahrol Saperi were sitting on the bench serving match suspensions previously.
According to Alberts this is a good sign of a healthy competition as the team continue its campaign for Super League promotion.
