Tony Fernandez took a bold move today by renaming his Liga FAM team, AirAsia FC to Petaling Jaya Rangers FC.
The move gives Petaling Jaya Rangers locality they need to grow as a football club in coming years, an immediately giving Klang Valley teams like Selangor FA, PKNS FC and Kuala Lumpur FA a run for the money.
Introducing the 22 new players from Petaling Jaya Rangers FC today was Tony himself, with Aireen Omar, CEO of AirAsia.
The Rangers have made headlines in recent weeks with the signing of former Melaka United coach Mat Zan Mat Aris, which brought Melaka United back to the Liga Super next season.
